The  American School is a new school for upper grades, presented by AFA (Action for Autism) and Howard Park Center.

The American School is the next phase of the strategic plan for the AFA Academy Campus.  There are two classrooms, one is the middle school class and the other is the senior high classroom.  Both classes have a certified and experienced special education teacher. The team also includes a speech/language pathologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and full time teacher assistant.

Each classroom has laptop computers as well as an iPad. Students have lockers to help keep them organized and to hold their belongings. A special area is dedicated for lunch, elective units, and fitness activities. Field trips are a regular part of the curriculum in The American School.
